About Me

Hellooooo!!! I’m Elsie Escobar, a podcasting advocate, mentor, and strategist who has been deeply involved in the podcasting space since 2006. I began my journey as one of the first female indie podcasters, using audio to teach yoga. My podcast, Elsie’s Yoga Class, has been downloaded over 4 million times, proving the transformative power of voice and connection.

As a Salvadorean, indie podcaster, and woman in a predominantly male industry, I have always championed diversity, inclusion, and representation in podcasting.

As the first Latina ever inducted into the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame, I’m honored to be recognized for my contributions to the podcasting industry. 🥹

I co-founded She Podcasts with Jessica Kupferman, which grew into the largest online community for women and non-binary podcasters on Facebook, with over 20,000 members. Led by Jessica, we created She Podcasts Live, a conference that united this vibrant community in 2019, 2021, and 2024. I stepped down from my leadership role at She Podcasts in January 2024 but remain deeply committed to supporting diverse voices in podcasting.

My journey has been shaped by my roles as a stage and screen actor, yoga teacher, and online community builder. These experiences have informed my holistic approach to podcast growth and development, which I bring to my mentorship program, The E-League. This program empowers independent podcasters to find their voices, build community, and create impactful content by embracing their unique strengths and values.
